Fisher is the mastermind behind Team Photogenic — and its best known personality. Gregarious and slightly outrageous, he has an extraordinary memory for people and faces. He believed people would rather look at pictures from opening parties, not a show which had ended by the time the magazine was published. The party pictures were so popular that they were picked up by a now defunct local magazine.
After a public-relations firm hired him to take pictures for an event, Fisher, who does not have formal photography training, decided he could make event photography a career.
Team Photogenic grew fast. By , Fisher had exhausted himself working more than events in a year. Now, he limits himself to three or four a week and calls upon a stable of contract photographers for most jobs. Photographer Vivian Hsu, 27, has been with Team Photogenic for three years.
