We lost Domenic in March Not long after, Kenny lost his partner Richie. Then one by one, more of our friends and family left us. For almost 30 years Kenny was one of my good friends, and for the past 7 years, my closest and dearest friend. Domenic introduced me to Kenny back in the early 80s. I never forget the 1st time I met him, which was also the 1st time I had seen him perform. It was at the Silver Slipper and boy did he surprise me. Let's just say I was the target for that show.

Kenny was the best. I soon learned that out of costume, Kenny was mild mannered and a loving family man; who was later blessed, and became a loving father to his son Kristen and not so long ago, to his grandson Alexander. You'd think, us living so far apart people sometime drift apart, but that was not the case. I bet that over the last 30 years, I had spent at least one of every holiday or special occasion with Kenny, his sister Marlena and the family.

I spoke with Kenny often, and several times during the past few weeks before his passing. Kenny loved to be on stage and loved people; especially his extended family. He loved to entertain us all; even right up to the end. Kenny loved to perform no matter how he was feeling - nothing stopped him from making us laugh — and sometimes until it hurt, and before you knew it, there were tears of laugher. Kenny — I love you like family. You were there for me, and I for you when we needed each other the most.

You're finally at peace and with those who you love most; little angel your baby girl , mom and your sister Gerry, and of course Richie, Lil-Lil and my Domenic as you liked to say it.

You my friend were one of the best and this world was so much better off having had you in it; even if it was for just a short time. So on this day as we remember Kenny, remember all of those happier times and let those tears of sadness remind you of all the joy and laughter Kenny brought to all of us.

In the words of Mr. The only thing that matters is that you love, and it doesn't matter what you are, as long as you are a good one! He was a hit from day 1. My brother and I came to Las Vegas in He auditioned for Kenny at Boylesque.

Kenny invited us to stay and watch the show after the audition. He even gave us a ride back to our hotel the Victory Downtown and warned us that it was a bad part of town!

He also told me I should call Norbert Aleman to audition for Crazy Girls - I did, and spent 6 of the best, crazy years of my life in that show. Thank you, Kenny for your BIG heart. I meet Kenny when he opened at the Silver Sliper thru a metual friend ,thru the years we became friendly he aleays invited me to his home when he parties,I had him over for dinner at my home , he would always tease me about always being in a suit and tie as I worked in a casino hotel and because I was Italian I reminded him of the goddather.

Kenny was one of the most talented and wity people I knew, outisde of being kind and generous and evne when in dress always a gentleman,he loved his family and especislly his son Chris. To his family , my deepest sympathy, you have much to be proud of. Sincerely, George Giacone. He spotted a child around 10 years old in the audience, he asked the parents if they had ever seen the show. He called the child up on the stage and talked to him for a few minutes. Then he said why don't you go backstage and play with my son for awhile.

He never made the child uncomfortable and I thought it was a very classy thing for him to do. Rest In Peace. Sleep with the Angels! With Adoration, Joie Starr.

Know that you are loved and missed. I worked at the Silver Slipper and I knew Kenny and thought he was a wonderful and funny and kind person. I would take my family to see him at that time he was really the one and only at what he did but he was also the best, so sorry to hear of his lost Not only was Kenny a talented Las Vegas icon, but he was a genuinely caring human being.

I worked at the Silver Slipper back in the late s, when Kenny and his troupe were performing in "Boylesque. He would always ask about my children, and would truly engage in the conversation. When my out-of-state family came to visit, we would always see a "Boylesque" show, and Kenny always made sure we had good seats and often engaged my family members when he interacted with the audience. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. He was a wonderful, talented man. Thank you kenny you made our lives fun giving us laughter and making life exciting we will always love u god bless love andrew and mike.

Kenny will be missed. I worked at the Silver Slipper for years and he was a larger than life personality. Vegas lost a true son. Kenny's seamless impersonations of Barbra Streisand and Cher illustrated his ability to transcend the typical female impersonator genre. Kenny Kerr was a multi-faceted entertainer who combined his talents as a singer and comedian to bring audiences one of the finest shows in the world.

Just before his sixteenth birthday, Kenny was shopping when the producers of a local female impersonator show approached him. The producers told him that he had a natural resemblance to Barbra Streisand and asked him if he would consider doing an audition. Kenny quickly said yes!! The makeover was so remarkable that he was offered a part in the company's production portraying Streisand and other female show business icons. For the next two years, Kenny began an almost impossible grind, attending school by day and traveling by bus each night, to perform in Philadelphia.

At the age of eighteen, after graduating from school, Kenny decided to produce his own show and went on the road for two years perfecting his craft. He was He was one of the most generous people who offered his time without pay to raise money for HIV refusing to accept payment for his transportation and lodging. He also never refused an engagement during the height of his Las Vegas reign through when home to see his family in New Jersey.

He did this to give young people the opportunity to see a gay entertainer who was successful outside of gay drag. I was especially surprised and entertained to see that he performed in one of Whoopi Goldberg's most entertaining films that I still love watching--The Associate as a cast member rather than as a cameo. I know, as well as Kenny that many people wished he would have stuck with lip-syncing, but he had a vision that has served to pave the way for many others.

My prayers are with his family, and with his nephew who reluctantly went on the Montel Williams Show, you did a noble thing young man! God bless and keep you. Jackson Walensis.
