There are thousands of acres of park here, which includes an mile trail perfect for biking in Houston. Whether you live or work in the Energy Corridor area or simply find yourself out in that direction, George Bush Park is one of the most underrated Houston bike trails.

To the west of downtown Houston lies the quiet, family-friendly neighborhood of Memorial. Filled with elegant homes and large corporate complexes, Memorial is a popular place to live and work in Houston.

Situated in the middle of the area is Memorial Park, one of the most popular parks in Houston for all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts.

There are also several paved areas for bikers to ride through as well. Located 40 miles northwest of downtown, Zube Park is a popular suburban park with acres of recreation areas, including picnic tables, a water park, and playgrounds. With over 10 miles of trails, this running path is perfect for those wanting to get out of the downtown areas without going too far. A mixture of gravel and paved paths will greet you, and the tree cover provides shade from the hot Houston sun.

At just 36 miles from downtown Houston, Jack Brooks Park a great destination for biking in Houston for the day, or as a detour on the way to Galveston.

While there are fewer trails in Jack Brooks Park, they are perfect, dirt paths for mountain biking, as there are tons of dips, ascents, and other fun challenges. The park has a total of 5. I recommend this trail and I wish more of the community take advantage of it.

Other than that, the park division needs to finish or construct the trail to go under 45 and the service road to truly complete this trail percent. Its awesome. Went with my husband and son. It's beautiful and a long trail. We rode our Electric bikes on the whole trail from one to the other.

We will go again. This is a great ride. I parked at TC Jester Park and headed toward downtown. Somewhere I connected with the Buffalo Bayou Trail and road until the trial ended approx 17 miles.

I ended up getting lost on the way back and ended my ride with about 50 total miles. After reading reviews, I was concerned about safety, but I found the trial safe. Some homeless under overpasses, some glass on trail. Just be aware. We ride through the heights and look at Christmas decoration. Very good trail, you can start at beltway 8 and bike pretty far.

There are many paths for all types of riders. The entire trail has been rendered worthless as a meaningful bike trail. Today I was clocked and then stopped by a Constable for exceeding 10mph on my bicycle beside the dam. Just to make it clear, you cant push the pedals and stay below 10mph. If thats the park rule, then fine, just quit calling it a bike trail.
